Omnidirectional images have increasingly wide uses in different industries, from fashion and commerce to 3D construction, because they contain more information than an ordinary photograph, and because they capture the world with an omnidirectional view in a single image. This paper describes a methodology for 3D reconstruction from hemispherical images acquired using a fisheye lens. The algebraic foundation and necessary equations are reviewed, as well as the different methods and tools to carry out a correct reconstruction.
