1. Type of Review

Killkana Sociales Journal applies a double-blind peer review system, ensuring the anonymity of both authors and reviewers throughout the entire editorial process.


2. Purpose of the Peer Review Process

The peer review process aims to ensure:

  • Originality and contribution to knowledge

3. Editorial Process Stages

All submitted manuscripts undergo the following stages:

3.1. Initial Editorial Screening

The Editorial Committee conducts a preliminary review to verify:

  • Compliance with editorial guidelines
  • Alignment with the journal’s scope and subject areas
  • Originality and overall quality of the manuscript

At this stage, the journal may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools as technical support to analyze thematic alignment and relevance, in order to optimize the initial screening process prior to assigning peer reviewers.

Estimated time: up to 10 business days.


3.2. External Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two external reviewers, who are experts in the relevant field.

The evaluation is conducted under a double-blind review process.

Estimated time: 2 to 4 weeks.


4. Evaluation Criteria

Reviewers assess manuscripts based on:

  • Originality of the research
  • Methodological rigor
  • Clarity and coherence of the content
  • Scientific and academic relevance
  • Contribution to the field

5. Possible Decisions

Reviewers may issue the following recommendations:

  • Accept
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Accept with major revisions
  • Reject

6. Revision Process

Authors are required to:

  • Respond to reviewers’ comments
  • Submit a revised version of the manuscript
  • Justify any suggested changes not incorporated

If necessary, the manuscript may undergo an additional round of review.


7. Final Editorial Decision

The final decision regarding publication is made by the Editorial Committee and is formally communicated to the authors.

In case of rejection, the corresponding justifications will be provided.

The estimated duration of the complete editorial process is:  8 to 12 weeks
