Publication Policies

Peer Review Process

Killkana Sociales Journal adopts peer review as the fundamental mechanism to ensure the quality, rigor, reliability, and integrity of published scientific output. The evaluation system used is the double-blind peer review.

All submitted manuscripts undergo an evaluation process consisting of two stages:

In the first stage, the Editorial Committee conducts a preliminary review of the manuscript, verifying compliance with editorial guidelines, thematic relevance, and basic quality criteria (estimated time: up to 10 business days).

If approved, the manuscript proceeds to a second stage of external evaluation through a double-blind review process, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. Reviewers are subject-matter experts external to the Editorial Committee (estimated time: 2 to 4 weeks).

Reviewers may issue the following decisions:

  • Acceptance
  • Acceptance with minor or major revisions
  • Rejection

Authors will receive reviewers’ comments and must submit a revised version of the manuscript within the established timeframe. If necessary, the manuscript may undergo an additional round of review.

The final decision regarding publication rests with the Editorial Committee and will be formally communicated to the authors, including justification in the case of rejection.

The estimated duration of the entire editorial process is approximately 8 to 12 weeks.

Accepted articles will be published under a continuous publication model (online first), including submission, acceptance, and publication dates, as well as the corresponding DOI.

Guidelines for Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to conduct their evaluations with objectivity, academic rigor, and scientific integrity, assessing the quality, coherence, and contribution of the manuscript.

It is recommended to:

  • Evaluate the manuscript as presented, without imposing personal approaches
  • Provide clear, constructive, and well-founded comments
  • Avoid conflicts of interest
