Anti-plagiarism and use of AI

Plagiarism Policy

1. Principle of Originality

Killkana Sociales Journal requires that all submitted manuscripts be original and unpublished, and that they are not under consideration by any other journal.

2. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined as the total or partial appropriation of ideas, texts, data, or results from other authors without proper acknowledgment, including:

  • Verbatim copying without citation
  • Inadequate paraphrasing
  • Self-plagiarism
  • Citation manipulation
  • Improper use of sources

3. Detection Tools

All manuscripts will be screened using specialized similarity detection tools (e.g., Turnitin or iThenticate) to verify originality.

4. Similarity Assessment Criteria

Similarity reports will be evaluated based on:

  • Context of the matches
  • Proper use of citations and references
  • Nature of the overlapping content

The similarity percentage alone will not determine editorial decisions; instead, a qualitative assessment will be conducted by the editorial team.

5. Procedure in Case of Plagiarism

If potential irregularities are detected:

  • The manuscript may be returned to the authors for revision, or
  • It may be rejected, depending on the severity of the issue

In cases of serious misconduct, additional measures will be taken in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics.

6. Authors’ Responsibility

Authors are responsible for:

  • Ensuring the originality of their work
  • Properly citing all sources
  • Respecting copyright and intellectual property rights
