Desprendimiento de retina en el Síndrome de Morning Glory Reporte de caso

Resumen

Objetivo: Reseñar un caso clínico de un paciente con anomalía de “Morning Glory” y evidenciar respecto de esta patología lo constatado en distintas literaturas. Diseño del estudio: Reporte de caso clínico. Métodos: Presentación de caso clínico de un paciente con “Síndrome de Morning Glory”, quien acude al Servicio de Oftalmología del Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga. Resultados: Se expone el caso de un paciente adolescente con desprendimiento de la retina concomitante a un “síndrome de Morning Glory”. Patología puntualizada que es parte de las anomalías del disco óptico, de influjo unilateral. Se relaciona habitualmente con agudeza visual disminuida y anomalías oculares. Aunque no existe terapéutica específica para la anomalía, una intervención oportuna en la edad pediátrica puede mejorar el pronóstico de estos pacientes. Discusión: El “síndrome de Morning Glory” acostumbra a ser identificado prematuramente debido a la mala agudeza visual. Un porcentaje considerable de casos revelan desprendimiento de retina. Abordamos un caso inusual de esta anomalía con desprendimiento de retina tratado mediante cirugía con pronóstico desfavorable.
