Abstract

Moving toward an interdisciplinary model in maxillofacial surgery involves effectively integrating medicine and dentistry as essential components of comprehensive patient care. The clinical, educational, and institutional benefits of this approach are highlighted, as well as the barriers that still limit its implementation. A call to action is made for training institutions and health systems to adopt policies and practices that promote collaborative, patient-centered, and equity-oriented care.
