Ancestral feeding has been and still is the source of full health. Its main characteristic is that of being organic and grown in a harmonious relationship between nature and man. In the present work the fundamental ideas about two Amazonian species are presented: Mukinde or Rhynchophorus Palmarum and Rolaquimba or Vasconcellea Monoica, which are an essential part in the amazonian populations’ diet. The use that the Amazonian inhabitants have made of these species in relation to food and medicine, and their acceptance among the population show possibilities of undertaking in various forms of entrepreneurship and the need to continue further research on these and other Amazonian species.
