Abstract

Objective: evaluate the degree of microfiltration of bulk fill composite compared to conventional composite.Methodology. The present systematic review was carried out according to the guidelines of the PRISMA Declaration. The PICO question was established as: What is the degree of microfiltration of bulk fill resins compared to conventional resins? The Web of science database was used to search for information, using as keywords: Bulk Fill and Dental marginal Adaptation And Incremental Techniques And Marginal Adaptation And Conventional composite And interface. As inclusion criteria, articles from 2015 to 2021 in English and Spanish were considered. Randomized and non-randomized clinical trials, in vitro studies, systematic reviews were included. A total of 10 articles were obtained for quality analysis Results: after quality analysis, all the articles qualified as "low bias". Within the methods of analysis of microleakage heterogeneity was found in its determination. The Ryge USPHS method determined restoration survival clinically while those analyzing interface gap, marginal mismatch and cohesion failure of the restoration margin used scanning electron microscopy. Conclusions. Bulk fill resins have a lower degree of microleakage compared to conventional resins. However, the use of bulk fill resins as a cavity base in a flowable form minimizes microleakage in the long term.
