Abstract

Aim: The objective of this review is to know the importance of statistical power in the sampling of parallel groups for hypothesis testing with their respective reliability percentages. Methodology: A search was carried out in scientific databases by means of articles in indexed journals and research methodology books in Spanish and English. Conclusions: The calculation of statistical power is a fundamental step to ensure the reliability and design of a study together with the sample size by controlling type I and type II errors from the moment of planning to the end of the study, offering not only credibility but also the guarantee of the results obtained.
