Consciousness as a critical issue for the security management of the information

Abstract

At the moment of facing the security organization management of the information, some approaches and criterions can be proposed that at the end will converge in a primary objective “To guarantee the information for the business strategy”. There are many risks associated to the use of technologies and information systems, due to the new organizational challenges and the increasing quantity of environmental threatens.   The security of the given information focused on human beings, is the less used approach at the time of implementing politics and security procedures, but the most critical moment is when it is tried.  The frauds, the stolen information, the lack of corporative images, and the legal problems, are some of the risks in which an organization is exposed if the employees are not aware about its incidence and its responsibilities for the defined security politics.  Given this scenario, some consciousness strategies must be defined aligned with the business strategy.  As a result of a documental analysis, there can be obtained some valuable conclusions that can be applied in any organization, which organizational objectives are aligned to the security of the information.
