Abstract

ABSTRACT

Antiplatelet and anticoagulant drugs are increasingly used in the population, they are indicated for the prevention and treatment of thrombosis, in ischemic heart disease, heart valve implants, strokes, etc. Objective: To determine the dental management in patients who are undergoing therapy with antiplatelet agents through a literature review to provide better care in the office. Materials and Methods: A literature search of the literature with time restriction and without language restriction was performed on platforms such as: PubMed and Google academic. The information was analyzed with comparison tables. Results: In gathering all the information it was obtained that cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of death worldwide, therefore in this bibliographic review several authors agreed that early diagnosis is essential in order to avoid future complications in the consultation. dental, it is also necessary to know that anticoagulant therapies can be performed with various medications, so it is considered essential to carry out a medical consultation before any dental procedure. Conclusion: To know the dental management in patients who are undergoing therapy with antiplatelet agents since they are the most used in the population since they are indicated in the prevention and treatment of thrombosis, ischemic heart disease, cerebrovascular accidents, etc., therefore When performing any surgical procedure in a patient who is undergoing this type of therapy, it must be taken into account that an increase in bleeding can occur during and after the procedure and thus avoid any complications in the dental office.
